Faculty Professional Development
My areas of expertise are post-secondary faculty development, trainer training, and training program development. In my work, I stress the importance of the integration and alignment of curriculum, teaching and learning, and evaluation.
I have lived and worked on education and training projects in several countries including Australia (one year), Bangladesh (one year), India (three years), and the United Arab Emirates (three years). I have worked on short-term projects in many other countries.
I worked with the School of Instructor Education at Vancouver Community College (VCC), British Columbia, Canada, for over thirty years, conducting numerous face-to-face and online courses of the BC Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP). Course participants included faculty from public and private colleges in BC, Alberta, the North West Territories, and the Yukon as well as trainers from government, business and industry, and other settings. In particular, I have conducted numerous Instructional Skills Workshops (ISW), Facilitator Development Workshops (FDW) and Trainer Development Workshops (TDW) of the Instructional Skills Workshop Program for faculty of various educational institutions in Canada, Chile, China, India, Russia, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, and the USA.
